This is not something that can be taught, it can only be enhanced. We all naturally relate to others in real life so, your ability to demonstrate competence in this area will mirror your personality.

It is more than empathy; it involves great listening and appropriate responses.

I have put together a simple mnemonic to remind us of key elements: GREETINGS

This will come in handy for most consultation exams eg the SCA.
