A good consultation is one of the most important elements of clinical practice and it plays a central role in the provision of quality Patient-centred care.

This is why different techniques have been developed and used over the years for its effective delivery. Whilst these techniques generally deal with consultation structure, a lot of people struggle to remember specific elements of the consultation (especially under examination conditions) so, I have developed a model that addresses both the structure and basic contents of a typical encounter.

This will come in handy for most consultation exams eg the SCA.

This has been applied to the Simulated Consultation Assessment (SCA) and it gave excellent results in all domains of the exam.
